Lamberts Dong Quai |

Dong Quai is the Chinese name for the root of the plant Anaehca sinensis and is one of the most important of the great Chinese herbs. During its long history of use it has become known as the 'temale' herb and is now used widely in the West in various preparations. Dong qua is of particular relevance to women, who may choose to use it pre-menstrually. The herb may also be chosen by women approaching the menopause. It is of particular interest because it helps the body to adapt to changing situations and is valued for its gentle balancing properties. Dong qual contains a group of complex substances, one of which, Ligustilide, is used as a marker in preparing a standardised extract. Lamberts Dong quai provides 200mg of standardised extract made from over l000mg of dried herb. Ligustilide is present at 2mg, a level often referred to in documented studies.
